Cambridge, Kings County, crash claims two fatalities
Two young Kings County men are dead as the result of an early Saturday morning crash in Cambridge.

RCMP have identified the occupants of the single vehicle involved in the crash as Jeffrey Michael Mackenzie, 19 years old, and Anthony Brian Hubley, 20, both of Cambridge.

RCMP were called to a single vehicle crash scene on Highway 1, Cambridge, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Feb. 2.

Residents of the area had heard a loud crash at approximately 3 a.m. but could not see anything amiss.

Residents noticed the crash scene later in the morning. Waterville firefighters and EHS members attended the scene, whereupon the two male occupants were pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that the vehicle was westbound on Highway 1, lost control, left the north side of the road, flew into the air, before coming to rest on its side in a treed lot between two houses.

Excessive speed and poor weather conditions were contributing factors to the crash. Furthermore, both occupants were not wearing seatbelts.
