Happy New Year
Now that the Christmas season has come to a close, here are a few safety tips for discarding decorations and packing them away until next year.
1. If your natural tree appears to be getting dry and branches are turning brown, it's time to remove the tree from the house and place it outdoors. Make sure that it is far enough away from any structure, so as to eliminate any chance of it catching fire, causing a more serious fire.
2. Even though lights and wires were checked before placing them on trees or around windows, give them another check before putting them in storage. Get rid of any loose connections or frayed wires. Buy new next year.
Congratulations to everyone who enjoyed a fire free Christmas.

Firefighters’ Museum Display
We are now visiting the second floor of the Firefighters' Museum. An 1890 hose reel used by the Yarmouth Cotton Company which carried 500-800 feet of hose was donated by Dominion Textile, Yarmouth. This is a hand drawn reel.
