Grand Pre 'welcome' signs toppled
By Wendy Elliott

The Advertsier/NovaNewsNow.com

The two ‘Welcome to Grand Pre’ signs, installed for the Acadian Congress in 2004, have both been vandalized within the last two weeks.

The first sign, located near Eye Road in Lower Wolfville, was attacked in broad daylight by someone with a chain saw on Sept. 27.

The second sign, located just off Highway 101, was toppled Oct. 3. There were no witnesses to either act of mischief.

Laurel Shaw of Laurel's Antiques said that the two signs were collected and have been put in safe storage. "It's such a shame. They were an addition to the community.”
