The Yarmouth Mariners have added Ross Martin from the Amherst Ramblers to its roster in exchange for future considerations.
Martin, who turns 20 in September, is a 6'4" 213-pound forward from Prince Edward Island. He played last season with the Amherst Ramblers where he had 14 goals, 27 points, and 67 penalty minutes in 52 regular season games.
Mariners head coach Jim Bottomley said he had gotten Martin from Miramichi during the last hockey season.
“He was a great power forward, scored goals, killed penalties, played our powerplay,” he says. “He’s just a great kid.”
About the trades and acquisitions that are taking place during the off season Bottomley says, “We’re certainly looking to not only restock the shelves but get some impact players so they can step in and be a contributor right away.”
