Spryfield takes 2-0 lead over Barrington Ice Dogs

The Spryfield Silver and Black Attack took a 2-0 lead in semi-final action in the Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League against the Barrington Sea Star Ice Dogs.

In game one in Spryfield on Feb. 15, the Attack struck with 38 seconds left on the clock in the third to edge Barrington 4-3. Brent Symonds, Jevon Link and Doran Arey were the Ice Dogs’ marksmen.

In game two on Feb. 16, Spryfield rallied for five markers in the second and third to down the Sea Star squad 10-1.  Justin Mabe led Spryfield with four goals and two assists, with two goals and two assists from Tyler Cameron, and single markers from Mathieu Bourgeois, Thomas Bennett and Alex Armstrong. Morgan d’Entremont, assisted by Brent Symonds scored the lone goal for Barrington.

The series continues this weekend at the Barrington Municipal Arena. Game three is slated for Friday (Feb. 21) night at 8 p.m., with game four on tap Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Game five if necessary will be played at the Halifax Forum on Sunday, Feb. 23. Game start is 6 p.m.
