River Rats force Game 4, showdown with Barrington is tonight

Rick Middleton, who played for the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins (1977-88) in his NHL days, dropped the puck for the Avon River Rats’ playoff game against the Barrington Sea Star Ice Dogs that was hosted at the Hants Exhibition Arena in Windsor Friday, Feb. 7. Jake Hopewell represented the River Rats in the puck drop and Brent Symonds posed for Barrington.

Rick Middleton, who played for the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins (1977-88) in his NHL days, dropped the puck for the Avon River Rats’ playoff game against the Barrington Sea Star Ice Dogs that was hosted at the Hants Exhibition Arena in Windsor Friday, Feb. 7.

Jake Hopewell represented the River Rats in the puck drop and Brent Symonds posed for Barrington. It was a do-or-die game for the River Rats as they lost the first two games in the Best of Five series. However, the hometown team won Game 3, forcing Game 4. They play tonight, in Windsor, at 7:15 p.m.

Middleton is currently on the ice at Long Pond taking part in the Long Pond Heritage Classic. The opening ceremonies begin at noon. The day of hockey action, which features several former NHL greats, is free for spectators to attend.
