The Barrington Barons opened the 2014 BMHS Tim Horton’s Lobster Trap Hockey Tournament on Jan. 16 with a 13-1 win over the Bridgewater Vikings.

Also on day one, the Yarmouth Vikings defeated the Bridgewater Vikings 7-5; the Par-en-Bas Sharks downed the Park View Panthers 6-1; and in the Justin Kenney Memorial hockey game, the Hants East Tigers upset the Barons 5-3.

Seven teams are competing in the three day tournament at the Barrington Municipal Arena. Action continues today (Jan. 17) with Bridgewater facing off against Hants East at 9:45 a.m. The tournament skills competition is slated for 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 p.m. Clare will meet Parkview. Yarmouth will take on Hants East at 2:15 p.m. Par-en-Bas and Clare will meet at 4 p.m. with a classic Barrington/Yarmouth matchup this evening at 7:30 p.m.

Semi-final action gets underway Saturday morning (Jan. 18) at 10 and 11:45 a.m. The championship game is slated for 3:15 p.m.
