The Canada Winter Games Curling Playdowns will start Friday in Shelburne.

The Shelburne Curling Club will host regional playdowns for the Canada Winter Games on Jan. 10-12.

Games will start for the Round 1 Qualifiers on Friday at 4 p.m. on three sheets, with a second draw set for 7:15 p.m.

More games will get underway at 8:15 a.m. and will carry on throughout the day. Final draws on Saturday start at 7:15 p.m.

On Sunday, the teams will once again hit the ice in Shelburne at 8 a.m. The final draw for the event will take place at 5:45 p.m.

There will be boy’s teams from Truro, Bridgewater, and Mayflower as well as three teams from Chester taking part.

On the girl’s side there will be two teams from Mayflower, two from Chester and one each from Bridgewater and Berwick in the playdown.

All curling match-ups will be open for public viewing.
