What has been a largely forgettable season for the Kentville senior Wildcats continued with a 4-0 loss Tuesday evening, Aug. 12 in Halifax.

Mark Haverstock threw a complete-game, four-hit shutout for the Pelham Canadians, handing the Wildcats their 20th loss in 22 regular season games.

Halifax, which finished with four runs on 10 hits, scored once in the first, twice in the fourth and once in the fifth. Kentville starter Shayne Conrad took the loss, with Codey Shrider appearing in relief.

Adam Lucas led the way for the Canadians with three singles and two RBI. Steve Murphy added a two-run double, and Ryan Veinot singled, doubled, stole three bases and scored two runs.

Shrider, Curtis Falls, Mike Lockhart and Jason Pleasant Sampson had one single each to account for Kentville's four hits.

The Wildcats are back in action this evening, when they host Dartmouth in a 7:30 p.m. start at Memorial Park.
