Kentville senior Wildcats’ first and second basemen are poised for action as Cody Shrider winds up a pitch against Truro during their July 13 home game.
Codey Shrider had a solo home run in the ninth inning, but that wasn’t enough to allow the Kentville senior Woldcats to defeat the visiting Truro Bearcats July 13.
It was a close contest, however, with Truro winning 11-10.
Kentville got off to a good start with four unanswered runs in the first two periods, followed by five in the third. They would remain scoreless until Shrider’s homer in the ninth, giving the Bearcats a chance to catch up with five runs in the eighth.
In addition to his home run, Shrider, who also pitched, had two singles, a double and sent two runners across the plate.
Mike Lockhard had three singles and one run batted in, while John Ansara had three singles and sent two runners home.
Rob Shepherd and Jason Pleasant-Sampson had two singles each, while Pleasant-Sampson sent two runners home.
