SMBA girls softball team beats Digby at home

The Saint Mary’s Bay Academy girls softball team battled back from a four-run deficit to beat the Digby Regional High School girls 9-7.

Digby hosted SMBA at the Don Brown Memorial Field on Monday, May 12 for the teams’ second encounter this season, both of which have gone to SMBA.

 

DRHS was leading 5-1 in the third and 7-4 going into the fifth when SMBA found their bats and pounded out five runs in one inning.

It was the Stingray’s third-straight win.

Digby’s record falls to 3-1 with one win and one loss to Middleton.

Digby plays in Annapolis tonight (Tuesday) and hosts Annapolis in Digby on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.

SMBA plays Clare in Clare at 6:30 tonight (Tuesday) and then they head up the Valley to Middleton for a Thursday night game.
