Accused of assaulting her husband with a hammer, the chief administrative officer of West Hants is scheduled to enter a plea in September.
Cheryl Chislett, 54, of Martock, was not present in Windsor provincial court on Aug. 19. Having filed designation of counsel in July, the accused was represented by Elizabeth Buckle of Halifax. The assault with a weapon charge has been adjourned to Sept. 16 for plea.
It’s alleged Chislett assaulted her husband with a hammer on June 21. As part of her release conditions, she is to have no communication with her husband except with his consent. She is prohibited from possessing a firearm and consuming alcohol or drugs.
Chislett is on leave of absence from her job with the Municipality of West Hants.
