A Berwick woman has had her conditional sentence suspended and will spend the remaining time in custody for failing to comply with house arrest.
Carissa Bianca Gould, 22, admitted the breach during a hearing in Kentville provincial court on Aug. 6. Judge Claudine MacDonald terminated her conditional sentence and ordered her to spend the remaining time, 119 days, in custody.
Gould committed the breach between July 27 and 28 by failing to remain in her residence. Gould was handed a six-month conditional sentence on May 28, including house arrest for the first three months and daily curfew for the remainder, to be followed by 12 months of reporting probation.
Gould pleaded guilty in March and May to six counts of defrauding banks and individuals of sums of money not exceeding $5,000 and two counts of stealing property valued at less than $5,000 from businesses.
