A wall hanging will mark the twinning of the Apple Blossom Festival with the  Goosnargh Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival. - Submitted

The Apple Blossom Festival was presented with a lasting reminder of its "twin" festival, the  Goosnargh Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival in England, recently.

Helena and Garry McCay accepted a special wall hanging created by Maria Peel to mark the twinning of the festivals. Helena and Garry were official delegates from the Annapolis Valley Festival at the twinning ceremony in Goosnargh in 2012 and they played an integral role in the success of the GWWF visit to Nova Scotia this spring. The hanging shows the three village churches of St Francis RC, St Mary’s CE and Trinity Methodists surrounding children dancing around a maypole.

Stella Roy, Rotary District Governor Elect 2014/15 for Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, St Pierre et Miquelon (District 7820), delivered the wall hanging to the McCay's. Roy  recently visited the GWWF delegation in the UK to discuss Rotary linkages and potential youth exchange programs.
