UPDATE Power outage in Kentville and area

Over 4,000 people in the Kentville area are without power due to a power line interruption. Power was initially expected to be restored by 3:45 p.m., but that was later revised to 11:45 p.m. The latest update says that power will not be returned until 3 a.m. on Dec. 28.

The impacted areas include:

- Town of Kentville from Prospect Ave and Aberdeen St east to New Minas including adjacent side streets

- Town of Kentville from Prospect Ave west to Coldbrook and also the north side of the Cornwallis River Bridge including adjacent side roads

- Kentville customers south from Exibition St. Includes part of Aberdeen, Cormwallis and Brooklyn St. Most of Chester Ave, Canaan Ave, Leverett Ave and Klondyke St.

- Kentville customers northwest of Exhibition and Cornwallis Street. No farther north than Lanzie Rd. Also part of Lanzie, McKittrick and Nicholas east of Cornwallis.

- West Main St, parts of Main St East to Aberdeen St and parts of School St from Main St.

- Glenwood Subd in Kentville

- Apple Tree Lane, Blossom Dr, Cortland Cres

- Maxwell Place, Hillcrest Ave, and Mountainview Road

    Power was not restored at 3:45 pm. Now they're predicting restoration at 11:45 pm. :-(
