The Christmas season has officially arrived in Middleton.

Lots of family entertainment has been going on this weekend. Starting on Friday night, families gathered at Centennial Park in Middleton to await the arrival of Santa Claus during the town's annual tree lighting ceremony.

Mayor Calvin Eddy welcomed everyone to the celebration. Santa arrived courtesy of the Middleton fire department. Santa visited with children while Rachel MacLean sang Christmas Carols. Fireworks and free skating were also planned throughout the evening.

The Santa Claus run kicked off events at Rotary Park on Saturday morning. Nearby at the Annapolis East Elementary School, childrens games and the bounce kingdom kept cildren busy until Santa arrived.

Bonnie and Jake, George Noble's friendly Belgian horse team, gave free wagon rides again this year at Rotary Park.
