Patients reminded to use main hospital entrance as lower entrance blocked
Work continues to prepare the area around Digby General Hospital for major excavation and construction work for the new health services centre.
A new driveway that exits on to Warwick Street has been built, and will be open for use starting Monday. The driveway is only for exiting from the front parking lot. Cars still enter the front parking lot through the regular entrance.
Drivers along Warwick Street are asked to be careful and watch for cars pulling out from the new exit driveway.
South West Health says that with the new exit completed, the major excavation and construction work can get underway.
Heavy equipment is working near the entrance to the Consultant Clinic in the lower level of the hospital.
For safety reasons, routine access to this entrance is blocked while work is underway. The door can still be used as an emergency exit.
Patients going to appointments in the lower level need to use the main entrance.
Services provided in the lower level area include the consultant clinic, a clinic for those without a family physician, physiotherapy, cardiac and respiratory services, diabetes education, outpatient nutritionist, social worker and palliative care, and speech pathology.
