Operators of a Burger King restaurant at 59 Starrs Rd. say they hope to open sometime next week.
"We had an equipment issue that will hold us up until Monday (April 7)," said Dwight Fraser of Franchise Management Inc.
The target opening is different from what the company had indicated to the Vanguard prior to the deadline of our April 1 print edition. At that stage the company had said the opening was planned for this week.
The restaurant has hired 50 employees and will seat 84 customers, which Fraser says is slightly more than typical for new stores.
Founded in 1954, Burger King worldwide is the second largest quick-serve hamburger chain in the world.
