Kings County breaking news

A victim of a vehicle break-in in Berwick is offering a cash reward for the return of a briefcase.

Amy, who asked that her surname not be used, said her vehicle was broken into outside the Driftwood restaurant Thursday evening and a friend’s briefcase was stolen. The vehcile was locked at the time. A window was smashed to gain access. There were no electronics inside, just personal items and the briefcase itself.

“We desperately want it back,” she said.

Amy said briefcases and a Bible were stolen from other vehicles

Sgt. Jamie Greene of the Kingston RCMP confirmed there were three vehicles broken into outside the Berwick establishment March 6 at approximately 6:30 p.m. There were several items stolen, Greene said, and the incident remains under investigation.

Amy said she arrived at the Driftwood around 6:05 p.m. and she thinks her vehicle was broken into between 6:15 and 6:40 p.m. When she went outside at 6:48, she discovered the thefts.

Amy said she is hoping someone in the area might have witnessed the theft.

An unspecified cash reward is being offered for the return of the briefcase. If you have any information, call Amy at 698-9162.

The Kingston RCMP can be contacted at 765-3317.
