Food producers pitch ideas to FarmWorks
Are you a food producer with a great idea t grow your business? Come to the meeting at Annapolis Royal fire hall on Feb. 20.
Local residents will have the opportunity to get to know their local food producers through a unique FarmWorks Investment Co-operative Limited event scheduled for February 20 in Annapolis Royal.
The FarmWorks Gentle Dragons event offers the opportunity to watch live as local food producers pitch their business ideas to a panel of “Gentle Dragons.” The panel is made up of representatives from agriculture and business development, and the audience. Ask questions, make suggestions, and become involved in your community.
Events are being held across the province, with a session planned in Annapolis Royal on February 20 at 7 p.m. at the Annapolis Royal Fire Hall.
Each presenter will have five minutes and, if desired, up to 10 slides to tell their stories, followed by Q&A and comments from the Gentle Dragons and the audience. Presenters are encouraged to promote their businesses with literature, samples and conversation.
FarmWorks Investment Co-operative Limited promotes increased food production and distribution in Nova Scotia by investing strategically in agricultural and food enterprises. It has raised $449,500 from Nova Scotians which has been invested in 21 food businesses that are providing more of the fresh, local, healthy produce Nova Scotians are seeking.
The FarmWorks Gentle Dragons event is looking for local food producers from across the province to pitch ideas to start or grow their business. All participants gain feedback on their ideas, and eligible participants may receive funding.
