Kings County is considering asking Stephen McNeil for a fixed election date that includes provincial, municipal and school board votes.
Coun. Wayne Atwater brought a motion to the Jan. 28 committee of the whole meeting to direct the chief administrative officer to write a letter to the premier, suggesting municipal and school board elections be bundled with provincial votes.
During discussion, the motion was amended to request a fixed election date – incorporating the three elections – be suggested in the letter.
Committee of the whole motions are recommendations to council. The next Municipality of Kings council meeting is set for the evening of Feb. 4.
