Man airlifted to hospital after Barrington fire

A Lifeflight helicopter arrived at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne shortly after 2 p.m. to transfer the injured man to Halifax.

A 69-year-old Shelburne County man was airlifted to Halifax after suffering serious burns in a fire near Barrington Passage Tuesday afternoon.

Local fire departments got the call shortly after 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28

The fire occurred in a mobile home on Highway 3 that was not occupied and was under construction.

RCMP and the Island and Barrington Fire Department are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fire.

The man was taken to Roseway Hospital in Shelburne by ambulance and he was airlifted to the QEII Hospital for treatment.There were no other details immediately available.
