Shelburne firefighters were called in to save a sinking boat at the Shelburne Marine Terminal on Friday morning.

By Amy Woolvett

The Shelburne Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call Friday morning, when a unoccupied pleasure boat began taking on water at the Shelburne Marine Terminal.

Don Faye, port manager at the wharf, said the owner of the boat- a Yarmouth resident, was contacted.

The older boat began taking on water and was slowly sinking.

Firefighters were able to pump the water out of the sailboat safely.
