Freezing rain Dec. 22 and Dec. 23 - and again overnight Dec. 29 -  led to power outages in the Kentvillle and Coldbrook area, with some customers being left in the dark for more than 12 hours. The ice kept local firefighters busy with storm-related incidents, most involving power lines arcing, with Kentville, New Minas, Wolfville, Waterville and District departments responding to calls.
