A blizzard warning for Kings County has ended, but a wind warning and blowing snow warning are in effect.

The 11 a.m. forecast from Environment Canada calls for an additional 5 cm of snow with winds 40 km/h, gusting to 70 to 90 km/h and temperatures near 0 C.

A blizzard warning continues for Kings County today, as heavy snow and high winds buffet the province. Environment Canada is warning of whiteout conditions and low visibility throughout the tday.

Snow began falling around 3 a.m. in Greenwood, leading to a number of cancellations. The Greenwood Mall, West Kings and Greenwood arenas are closed. Acadia Athletics Complex is closed until at least 1 p.m. A number of church services and other events are cancelled, including the Halifax to Kentville run of the Maritime Bus service. 

The current  forecast calls for continuing snow, at times heavy, and blowing snow with accumulation around 20 cm.

Winds gusting to 70 km/h this afternoon with flurries and blowing snow continuing until after midnight. A high of 0 C and a low of - 6 C is predicted.
