Planning is now under way for the 2012 annual meeting of the Aquaculture Association of Canada being held in Charlottetown.
âNew Frontiers â bridging technology and economic growthâ will be the theme for the four-day conference planned for May 27-30 at the Rodd Charlottetown. The meeting will include workshops, seminars, contributed papers and posters and discussions.
The meeting will also see the presentation of the lifetime achieve award; research and development awards as well as presentations from students studying aquaculture at various educational institutions throughout the country.
The associationâs main mission is to promote the study of aquaculture and related science in Canada, to gather and disseminate information relating to aquaculture, and to create public awareness and understanding of aquaculture. The event is expected to attract delegates form industry, governments and academia.
The session will be co-sponsored by the Aquaculture Association of Canada, PEI Department of Fisheries, aquaculture and Rural Development, PEI Aquaculture Alliance and the Atlantic Veterinary College at UPEI.
A major announcement on plans for the conference is expected early in 2012.
