Plenty of free activities are planned for children and youth this summer, starting with a ball hockey game and barbecue.

Various groups are partnering to spread the word about the free services and programs that are available to children and youth. A special event is being planned on Friday, June 27 from noon until 1p.m. on Hollow Drive in Middleton.

Everyone is invited to join in a street ball hockey game, a free barbeque, and information hand-outs.

The Town of Middleton’s Department of Recreation and Community Services is partnering with the Annapolis District RCMP to host this special event called Y.E.S. (Youth Engagement Series).

It aims to introduce families and youth to the members of the local organizations and government sectors that offer various services. Representatives from the Annapolis Valley Regional Library, the town and county’s recreation departments, and Family Matters will all be there to talk about the services and programs they offer.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to come and take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about youth services, as well as engage in a community development experience with service providers.

For more information on this event, please contact the Town of Middleton’s Department of Recreation and Community Services at 902.825.6611; or the Annapolis District Community Program Officer at 902.665.4481.
