Annapolis Valley native makes the cut in CBC Searchlight competition

Singer-songwriter Jess Healey

Valley-raised singer-songwriter Jess Healey has made it through the first round of voting in CBC’s Searchlight contest.

Searchlight is a competition that connects artists with fans in their community and across the country.  The grand prize includes $20,000 worth of music equipment from Yamaha Canada Music, a professional recording with CBC Music, and a spot on the bill with Tegan and Sara, and Spoon at the upcoming CBCMusic.ca Festival in Vancouver. The contest drew 4,000 applications from across the county. Healey made it to the second round with her song Kings and Queens.

Healy released her sophomore album, Lionheart, in November 2013. She currently resides in Halifax.
