Berwick native Mitchell Pineo won the 2014 ECMA for Electronic recording

Berwick native Mitchell Pineo picked up some hardware at the East Coast Music Awards held over the weekend in Charlottetown.

Pineo’s C'est La Vie! was chosen as the Electronic Recording of the Year during a presentation made April 6. This is his first ECMA win.

Known simply as PINEO, the 21 year-old West Kings grad now calls Halifax home, where he is an electronic music producer and DJ. He began producing experimental electronic music at the age of 16 after performing in local rock bands, and now writes in a wide range of electronic sub-genres and styles packed with pop culture and nostalgia.
