ARCAC auction a celebration of the arts

This painting by Poppy Balser is among the items up for auction this year. Various works in pottery, spinning, knitting, rug hooking, creative stitching, watercolour, acrylic painting, and cloth sculpture are also on the block.

The Annapolis Region Community Arts Council (ARCAC) will once again “Celebrate the Arts” at its upcoming Going Once…Going Twice spring fundraiser April 5. With entertainment, music, delicious snacks and lots of fabulous auction offerings, it promises to be a grand party.

Celebrity host Cathy Jones of CBC’s This Hour Has 22 minutes will keep the laughs rolling. The demonstrations by artists and artisans of the region will provide a sampling of the wealth of artistic talent which surrounds us. These will include pottery, spinning, knitting, rug hooking, creative stitching, watercolour, acrylic painting and cloth sculpture. Live music will add to the atmosphere.

This evening is a “fun” raiser so come out, meet your neighbours and be ready to have a good time. You can even step into the photo booth to record your memories of the night!

Raffles as well as the Silent and Live auction items will provide 125 opportunities to walk away a winner with prizes being provided by ARCAC members, their families and supporters from Weymouth to Halifax.

“There is truly something for everyone,” says ARCAC Chair Heather McCormick. We have many excursions including: apple picking and a wagon ride, a dairy farm tour and milking lesson, kayak & canoe outings, a geocaching trip and golf passes to five courses.
