Nova Scotia’s Heart and Stroke Walkabout programis offering Walkable Communities Grants to help organizations or groups in the province take steps to increase walking participation.

A total of $6,000 in grants valued between $500 to $2,000 will be awarded to 3-12 groups this year. Those eligible to apply for this funding include organizations, groups of individuals or communities. Those who have previously received a Walkability Grant may reapply.

Funds will be distributed by Summer 2014 with spending required by Aug 31 2015.  A final report will be required at that time. Successful applicants will receive a package of Walkabout promotional items to enhance their projects.

For complete grant application criteria visit www.heartandstroke.ns.ca. Deadline for submissions is Monday April 21, 2014.
