Anyone who knows Bonnie Shand-Symonds, Doctor’s Cove, knows she likes to celebrate, loves her family and enjoys supporting her community.
Symonds has decided to combine the three with a fundraising 60th birthday bash at the Barrington Area Lions Hall on Friday, Dec. 20, starting at 7 p.m. in support of the Rosalin Nickerson CARE Fund.
“Instead of receiving gifts, I wanted to have a fundraiser for charity,” said Symonds, who has been busy lining up entertainment for the evening, as well as donations for a silent auction and lobsters for a draw.
Among those taking the stage will be Kyle Smith and his band Recycled, the sister duet of Adele Atkinson and Donna Goodwin and Pastor Phil Williams. “There may be a few surprises thrown in there as well,” said Symonds.
Raffle tickets are also being sold on a snowman Christmas tree, donated by Rosalin Nickerson Society committee member Shelly Perry, which will be drawn for that evening.
“My hope is for a fun night where family and friends can get together and relax, visit and forget about the hustle and bustle of Christmas,” said Symonds.
