Hat’s off to the Scott’s Bay Recreation Committee and volunteer Chelsey Thomas for another successful children’s Christmas party Dec. 14 at the hall. Despite the cold and icy roads, 18 children enjoyed making reindeer and melting snowman ornaments, fingerprint Christmas bulbs and popup cards, cupcake decorating, piñata, a KFC dinner and a special visit from Santa. Everyone had a wonderful time.

Ross Creek Centre for the Arts 12 days of Christmas countdown with super savings ends Dec. 25. Book and pay for camps before Christmas; receive a pair of preview tickets for Two Planks show. Call 582-3842 or email chris@artscentre.ca

Canning Legion New Year’s Eve Dance is Dec. 31 from 9 p.m.– 1 a.m., with music by Bev Sheffield. Light lunch at midnight. Tickets $30/couple. Call legion at 582-7246 after 4 p.m. daily. Tickets limited.
