This year, the Avon Chamber of Commerce’s annual general meeting will have a very special guest: the premier of Nova Scotia.
Stephen MacNeil is slated to attend the AGM as the keynote speaker.
The catered dinner runs from 6-9:30 p.m on Thursday, May 8 at the Brooklyn Civic Centre. The cost to attend is $35 per chamber member, and $45 for non-members.
The goal of the Avon Chamber of Commerce is to provide its members with networking opportunities, and to help with progressing industry growth, as well as promoting the civic interests of the communities involved.
Up for discussion during the AGM is how the Avon Chamber of Commerce works to promote and serve the business industry in the community.
“Mostly, I hope that we create awareness for our campaign, in terms of the Avon brand,” said Jeffrey Barrett, the chamber’s second vice president, in an interview.
There is a limited amount of seating available. As such, people are encouraged to contact the organizers as soon as possible to hold a seat. Those in attendance will have the chance to listen to the premier speak as well as hear an update on what projects the chamber has been working on.
