The Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association (YASTA) is on the search for a new general manager after Julie Walters accepted employment with Nova Star Cruises as the company’s director of the Nova Star Discovery Program.
Charles Robicheau, who has been YASTA’s tourism development officer since June 2012, has accepted the role of interim general manager. Robicheau will ensure the continued operation of the association, while the YASTA board begins the recruitment process to find a new general manager.
“It is YASTA’s intention to move quickly and have a new general manager in place by March. A hiring committee has been formed, and interested candidates are requested to submit their resume by mid- January,” says John Cunningham, chair of YASTA. “In the meantime, all projects will continue forward as we prepare for the return of ferry service in May 2014.”
Walters’ final day with YASTA was Friday, Dec. 20.
“The YASTA board would like to take this opportunity to thank Julie for her dedication and service to the tourism industry and our association. We wish her the best of luck in her new venture,” says Brian Rodney, vice-chair of YASTA.
