YCMHS boys to play Citadel High School in provincial qualifier in Yarmouth Friday

Winner will advance to Division 1 provincials to be held following weekend at Horton

The Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School Vikings will play host to Citadel High School Friday, Feb. 22, at 4:30 p.m. in a provincial basketball qualifier, with the winner advancing to the division 1 provincial championships.

The provincials will be held the following weekend at Horton.

Horton is where the Vikings took second place at this past weekend’s division 1 western boys basketball regionals.

The YCMHS team won its tournament opener against Park View Education Centre, then lost the next day to host Horton.

On Friday (Feb. 15), the Vikings were 81-72 winners over Park View.

Top scorers for Yarmouth: Dylan Landry, 32 points; Noah Wilcox, 17 points; Dawson Mills, 12 points.

Randal Fells was Yarmouth’s top rebounder.

On Saturday (Feb. 16), Yarmouth fell to Horton High School 124-78.

Top Yarmouth scorers in this one: Noah Wilcox, 32 points; Dylan Landry, 21 points; Randal Fells 11 points.

Fells was Yarmouth’s top rebounder.

Meanwhile, the season is over for the YCMHS girls, who lost to Horton 93-34 at their western regionals.
