Yarmouth Grade 9 boys win district basketball title, advance to regionals

Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School’s Grade 9 boys basketball team defeated Barrington Tuesday in the title game of the division 1 district junior high school boys district championships.

Playing in Barrington, the visiting Vikings defeated the host Barons 74-56 in the title contest.

Ethan Grant and David Ihidero each had 22 points for Yarmouth.

Nate Wickens and Trent Ogden each had 14 points for Barrington.

The YCMHS team advances to the regionals, which will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Horton.

In their other game in the district championships, the Vikings were 67-40 winners over Maple Grove.

Ethan Grant had 13 points for Yarmouth in this one.

Liam Mosley had 12 points for Maple Grove.
