WINDSOR, N.S. — The Avon View Avalanche’s football team has made the playoffs but until their game on Oct. 29 against the Northeast Kings Titans is decided, they won’t know if they have home field advantage for the NSSAF Division II semi-final.
The DII semi-final will be held on Nov. 5. The other divisional semi-final will see Central Kings hosting Millwood.
Entering Sunday’s game against the Titans, both teams were 5-2 on the season.

The Central Kings Gators thumped the Avon View Avalanche 47-6.
It is going to be an exceptionally tough for any team to beat the Central Kings Gators in the league championship final.
The Avalanche found this out Oct. 15 as they were pummelled by the Gators.
The Avalanche started the game off on the right foot, leading 5-0 at the end of the first quarter on a 30-yard field goal and two singles by Devin Bryan.
The Gators came to life in the second quarter when they scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-5 lead at the half.
The Gators showed no mercy in the second half, scoring five touchdowns.
When Avon View took on the West Kings Wolverines, the Windsor team emerged victorious, defeating them 20-8.
In one of the notable plays, defensive tackle Eric Harvey took down the West Kings ball carrier and stripped him of the football, allowing Noah Fraser to scoop up the fumble. With a single and a kicked convert by Devin Bryan, that play allowed the Avalanche to take an 8-0 lead.
Quarterback Jack Sheehan then ran 30 yards for a touchdown for the 14-0 half-time advantage.
In the second half, the Avalanche had a 42-yard touchdown called back on a penalty.
“A lot of untimely penalties prevented both teams from getting any rhythm to their games,” said assistant coach Gord Chase following the match.
With the Avalanche driving down the field, the Wolverines were holding their own until taking a face mask penalty at the end of a 25-yard Sheehan run, which put the Avalanche on the West Kings 12-yard line. Avon View capped off the drive for the final score of the game when Joe MacDonald took a hand off from Sheehan and powered it in for the six points.
