Acadia soccer Axewomen move on to semifinal AUS championship action

HALIFAX - Kings County native Kinsella Noseworthy-Smith slipped the ball past the host Dalhousie Tigers keeper to secure the Acadia Axewomen a spot in the AUS women’s soccer semifinals.

Kinsella Noseworthy-Smith of Wolfville, wearing #10, in action for the Axewomen soccer team earlier this season. 

Noseworthy-Smith had the only goal in Acadia’s 1-0 quarter-final victory over Dal on Oct. 31 in Halifax. The unassisted marker came late in the second.

Dalhousie keeper Katie Morgan stopped three other Acadia shots while Acadia keeper Carrie Wood blocked four shots.

Acadia will now move on to the semifinals Nov. 1, which is being played at 11 a.m. against the UNB Varsity Reds at Dalhousie's Wickwire Field.

Winners of the two semifinal matches will meet for the final on Nov. 2.
