École secondaire de Par-en-Bas returned from this past weekend’s NSSAF division 2 senior girls volleyball provincials at South Colchester Academy with silver medals.
The Par-en-Bas team made it to the championship, where they lost to West Kings 16-25, 22-25.
En route to the championship match, the Par-en-Bas girls came first in their pool by defeating SAREC (Strait Area Education and Recreation Centre) 25-22, 26-24, topping South Colchester 25-17, 29-27 and losing to Clare in three sets 25-20, 19-25, 15-17.
They defeated Digby in the crossovers 25-18, 25-16, which earned them a spot in the final, where they fell to West Kings and got silver.
Par-en-Bas had a very successful season, winning gold at the Saint Mary’s University and Bridgewater tournaments, as well as second place at regionals.
The team also looks strong for next season as there only will be one player not returning. Hannah Amiro is the team’s only Grade 12 player.
The Par-en-Bas team is coached by Katrina Larkin and Phil Cottreau.
