Get ready for Maritime NHL’ers for Kids in DIgby because it's almost three months away from tee off.
The celebrity golf tournament’s host committee and local volunteers met with event organizers recently to discuss final details of the event.
“What makes this all come together, is the community working together,” said event organizer Chris Larsen.
Some local promotions are being planned to get the word out about the event. Organizers will be at the Spring into Summer expo at the Digby Arena in June, said Larsen.
“The goal is to have a sold-out golf tournament long before we tee off.”
Confirmed celebrities include Ron MacLean, Blayre Turnball, Jillian Saulnier, Joe DiPenta, Heather Moyse, Murray Wilson, Dennis Bonvie, Troy Ryan, Ryan Bowness, Eric Neilson and Matthew Highmore. With more to come.
Maritime NHL’ers for Kids is July 25 and 26 in Digby. On the 25 there will be a meet and greet with celebrities at Canadian Tire. Later that evening there is a gala dinner with a live auction and a 19+ after party.
On the 26, at the Digby Arena there will be a celebrity question and answer period. Then the tournament starts at noon, followed by a reception and another 19+ after party.
More details and announcements will come as the tournament approaches.
There are over 20 teams confirmed for the golf tournament portion and spots are filling up quickly.
