GREENWICH - It's shaping up to be an exciting season for the Horton Griffins.

Peir Pufahl, manager of Horton’s division one boys’ basketball team, says the team is returning to league play this year, meaning they’ll be adding more home games to the mix.

Horton hosted a six-team fall classic tournament Nov. 23-25. The Griffins suffered losses to Sir John A. and Auburn, but defeated the visiting Colonol Gray team from Charlottetown, P.E.I..

“It’s a young team and they have a lot of talent, it’s just coming together… and moving forward as a cohesive unit,” said Pufahl,

“They came a long way in a short time, even through the tournament.”

Pufahl is confident the mix of accomplished coaches and players on the Griffins roster this season will result in some high quality basketball.

 “We’ve got some fantastic talent.”
