The event will be part of Acadia University's Homecoming celebrations, scheduled for Oct. 12-15 on the Acadia campus.
Athletes entering the hall will include: basketball greats Alvin Jessamy ('79), Ed Shannon ('79) and Donnie Ehler ('83). Jessamy will be inducted posthumously.
Also on the list are multi-sport athlete Don MacVicar ('57), ice Axeman Bob Ferguson ('59), men's soccer star Jeff Farquhar ('94), and women's volleyball stand-out Lori-Beth MacEwen ('04). Former Advertiser sports reporter John DeCoste ('77) will be inducted in the builder category.
Athletics Director Kevin Dickie congratulated the inductees, saying, "we're excited to welcome back such an exceptional group of Acadia athletes and ambassadors. This year's inductees connect the past to the present in a truly special way and embody not only the competitive spirit of our program, but the strong tradition of excellence that is the hallmark of Acadia Athletics.”
Dickie said, “I invite members of our alumni and the greater community to join us on Oct. 14 and applaud these outstanding athletes and individuals."
