The Acadia women’s rugby team trounced Saint Mary’s 75-10, the football Axemen eked out a narrow 25-24 win over Mount Allison, soccer Axemen defeated Mount Allison 3-1 and the soccer Axewomen defeated Mount Allison 2-1.

On Sept. 18, the soccer Axewomen goals came from Michelle Pryde (unassisted), followed by the game winner from Meghan Earle, assisted by Rachelle Aucoin.

Matthew Berrigan got things off on the right foot for men’s soccer with two unassisted goals. Acadia’s Cooper Coats made in 3-0.

The football Axemen snapped Mount Allison’s 12-game winning streak by the narrowest of margins Sept. 19. The Mounties, who haven’t lost a game since the fall of 2014, were in the lead most of the game until Acadia scored with a minute left on the clock with a 53-yard reception and run by fourth-year receiver Brian Jones.

It was all Acadia as the rugby Axewomen travelled to Halifax to play Saint Mary’s Sept. 19. Acadia scored early in the first with a try and a converted kick to claim a 7-0 lead and didn’t let up after that. SMU came back with a try but the conversion kick failed. Acadia scored the next 24 unanswered points in the first half.

The Axewomen came back in the second with two quick trys and converted a kick to make it a 43-5 lead. A try late in the second wasn’t enough for the Huskies, making it 75-10.
