His award is valued at $2,000.
Creighton, who is a member of the Digby Pines and Ashburn golf clubs, has captured a number of golf championships, including the 2014 NSGA Junior and the 2014 CN Future Links Championships.
He is in his second year at Radford University in Virginia where he is studying business and has maintained a 3.94 GPA and is on the Dean's List. He is also a member of the university’s golf team (NCAA Division 1).
Winners of the Murray Purcell bursary Program originate from all areas of the province. This year, the Nova Scotia Golf Association received bursary applications from a variety of Nova Scotian students for the endowment program.
The top bursary of $3,000 was awarded to Elizabeth Furniss of the Paragon Golf Club.
Furniss is in her second year of mechanical engineering at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Migh., and has represented Nova Scotia at three championships along with the 2013 Canada Games.
