WINDSOR, N.S. – The Kameron Jr. Miners of Membertou squeezed by the Antigonish Bulldogs 3-2 in Membertou on March 20 to take the Sid Rowe Divisional Final in 5 games, at 4-1 in the series.
The Bulldogs rallied, getting a power-play goal and a short-handed goal, but they could not score the equalizer and were eliminated.
East Hants and the Kameron Jr. Miners will now meet for the League Championship with the opening games expected to be played Easter Weekend.
East Hants has home ice advantage because both clubs won 26 games during the regular season and had identical records of 26-6-0-2 for 54 points.
The next tie-breaker was in games played between the two clubs and the Penguins won both 7-6 in a shoot-out and 9-6.
Windsor’s Valley Maple Leafs were eliminated earlier during the playoffs by the East Hants Penguins.
