WINDSOR — After being involved in three tie games, the Avon View Avalanche’s girls’ high school hockey team bounced back with a solid 2-0 victory over Northeast Kings at the Glooscap Arena in Canning on Feb. 25.
The win over Northeast Kings was a huge lift mentally for the Avalanche as the NKEC Titans had battled Avon View to a solid 3-3 tie on Jan. 12 in Windsor.
Avalanche goal scorers were Morgan Hennigar in the opening frame and Brittany Poole in the second period.
The win marked Avon View’s tenth of the season to go along with three ties for 23 points as they entered weekend play.
The girls’ game against Barrington High School in Newport on Feb. 1 was postponed due to the weather.
They are set to play Feb. 2 in Windsor against the Park View Lady Panthers at 5:20 p.m.
Their next and final regular season home game of the 2018-19 season will be Feb. 10 in Newport against West Kings.
