Locke, who plays hockey as well as golf, was also one of four shortlisted for the male athlete of the year award, an honour he captured last year, but was outshone this year by soccer player Ibra Sanoh from Guinea.
Sanoh scored 26 goals in 12 regular season matches to lead the Hurricanes to an undefeated season. He was also the college’s first soccer player to be named ACAA player of the year. Four goals in the ACAA playoffs cemented his status as a CCAA all-Canadian.
As well as being named MVP on the men’s golf team, Locke was Atlantic College Athletic Association champion in golf (individual and team), a Canadian College Athletic Association all-Canadian, academic all-Canadian, and CCAA team champion.
The awards were presented at the 11th annual athletic awards banquet held in the Tourism and Culinary Centre in Charlottetown.
