Privateers ahead 3-1 after fourth game of playoff series

LIVERPOOL – The Liverpool Privateers won by a landslide against the Cole Harbour Colts Feb. 24 to claim a commanding lead of the best-of-seven playoff series.

Almost 800 people were on hand at Queens Place Emera Centre to cheer on the Privateers and Colts as the home team won 7-1 in Game 4. 

The first goal came in the first 30 seconds of the game of the stick of Brandon Pottie, his first of two goals of the night. Stone Harnish, Jonny Jones, Cooper Stuart, Alex Nauss and Connor Barnhill each scored one goal. 

Noah Naugler made four assists, Harnish made two, while Pottie, Jones, Nolan Leeco, Kaleb Sanford, Kayden Nickerson, Brady Meech, Travis Parks and Mitchell Baker each made one. 

So far, in the best-of-seven series, the Privateers are up 3-1; they also had a 4-3 win against the Colts Feb. 17 and a 4-3 win on Feb. 16. The Colts managed a 3-1 win in Game 3 on Feb. 23. 

 The winner of this series will take on the winner of the East Hants Penguins and Valley Maple Leafs series for the Fred Fox Division title. 

“Saturday’s game went according to plan,” said Bruce Inglis, president of the Privateers. “We had a great start and didn’t get complacent and allow Cole Harbour any chance to get back in the game.”

The Privateers are set to face off against the Colts at 6:50 p.m. at Gray Arena in Dartmouth March 1. 

The next home game for the Privateers is scheduled to happen at Queens Place Emera Centre at 7 p.m. on March 3, if necessary. After that, Game 7 will be held at Cole Harbour Place at 1:50 p.m. March 4 if necessary.
