The Windsor Knights, with three wins this past week, moved to within a single point of the Noel Road Blue Jays for first place in the league standings.
The Knights defeated Noel Road once and Kennetcook twice, while the Blue Jays swept doubleheaders over Shelburne and the expansion Pictou County Royals.
The Blue Jays are now 7-3 on the season for 24 points and the Knights are 7-2 for 23 points.
The Hantsport Shamrocks occupy fourth place with a 5-3 mark after they split a pair of games with the 3-5 Pictou County Albions.

Knights 2, Blue Jays 1
The Knights eked out a 2-1 win over last year’s NSIBL champs when they met for a mid-week game.
The Knights scored both of their runs in the top half of the fifth inning and collected seven hits, including an RBI double by playing coach Paul Humphreys and another two-base hit by Cory Whitney.
Jason Hanes pitched his third win of the season while Justin Campbell suffered the loss.
Knights 9, Braves 0
Derek Hart kept his sizzling bat alive with four base hits giving him 14 hits in 25 plate appearances to date this season.
Caleb Matheson also came through with a clutch two-run single for the Knights who led 2-0 after four innings and 6-0 after five.
Humphreys pitched the win.
Passing home plate for the Knights were Mike Johnston (twice), Hart (twice), Hanes (twice), Josh Shankel (twice) and Evan Frank.
Knights 3, Braves 1
Windsor defeated Kennetcook 3-1 in their second game June 28.
Wade Flynn was on the mound for the majority of this game, with Dave Swindall coming in as relief after the Braves put runners at the corners in the top of the seventh.
Despite playing for the past number of years with the Knights, Flynn just recently joined the pitching rotation. Humphreys said he “has been working non-stop in practices and demonstrated great arm strength and pitched an excellent game for us today."
Swindall earned his first save of the season by retiring the only batter he faced with a fly ball to left field.
Albions 2, Shamrocks 1
Matt Lloy suffered a rare loss for the Hantsport Shamrocks on the pitching mound when the Pictou County Albions came to town.
Hantsport lost the first game 2-1.
The Albions scored their go-ahead winning run on an error.
Lloy only gave up four base hits but timely hitting was not a hallmark of the Shamrocks offense Sunday in the opening game as they left the bases-loaded in the fifth inning while taking seven walks from Pictou County pitching but scored only the single run.
Zack Russell collected a pair of hits and drive in the Shamrocks lone run of the game in the fourth inning.
Shamrocks 5, Albions 2
Eric Such was called up from the Hantsport junior baseball team to pitch the second game of the doubleheader and impressed his teammates by allowing only five hits in going the distance for the win while striking out four.
Unlike the first game, the Shamrocks offense came alive with Matt Russell and Matt Lloy both collecting a pair of base hits, one of Lloy's being an RBI single.
Hantsport presently trails Shelburne by a single point for third place and could help themselves out immensely July 5 when they play the Schooners at home in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.

The Blue Jays collected 31 hits in the two wins over Shelburne on June 27 in Noel Road.
In the opener, Kenny Miller went two for three with a home run and three RBIs while Matt Wiseman connected for two doubles and two RBIs. Pat Benedict also went two for two and collected two RBIs. Shaun Marshall pitched the win, allowing three hits in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

The Blue Jays garnered 20 of their 31 hits in the doubleheader in the second game victory.
Benedict collected four hits and remained one of the top three hitters in the league while Wiseman went three for three and Marshall three for four with three RBIs.
Ryan MacPhee was the winning pitcher, coming on in relief of Kyle McCulloch.

The Blue Jays kept their bats sizzling on Sunday as they played their third and fourth consecutive home games of the weekend.
The Blue Jays pounded out 12 hits including a home run and four RBIs from Matt MacDonald when they took on the Pictou County Royals.

The Blue Jays collected 13 hits in this game, giving them 56 hits in the four weekend home games.
Ten of the 13 players to go to the plate on Sunday for Noel Road collected at least one hit.
Mike White and Aaron McPhee collected a pair of RBIs apiece in a game called after four innings due to the 15-run rule.
